Beach and Park

Park Commission

Maintenance and operation of recreational facilities on park properties are financed by a park tax and residents' contributions. A playground for small children, tennis courts, playing fields and an ice rink are included in the facilities, which the Park Commissioner oversees.

Several tracts of beach and woodland have been deeded to the Town for park purposes, initially by Dune Acres, Inc. and later from purchases financed by citizen subscription and gifts.

Beach Commission

Most of the beach is owned by the Town and is accessible by Town residents at 6 locations. A Beach Commissioner is responsible for overseeing the rules regarding use and safety of the beach.
