The Town Council is the executive and administrative body of Dune Acres. It is composed of three Members, and a Clerk/Treasurer. They are elected by a majority of full time residents, who are registered voters, to serve a four-year term of office. The Town Council currently meets the third Tuesday of every month at 7:30 PM in the Town Hall at 1 East Road, to conduct the business of the Town. NOTE: During the summer, the Town Council will meet at 9:00 AM on Saturday June 21, 2008, July 19, 2008, and August 16, 2008 rather than on the third Tuesday. Each Member of the Town Council serves sixteen months as President. When a vacancy occurs on the Council, the remaining Members appoint a registered voter resident to fill the vacancy to the end of that term. The Clerk/Treasurer votes only in case of a tie. All Council and Commissioner positions serve without pay. Only the Clerk/Treasurer and/or Deputy Clerk/Treasurer, Town Attorney, and Security Officers receive compensation for their work. The Clerk/Treasurer (and/or Deputy) keeps the Town's books and records and handles its funds. He/she aids in the preparation of the annual budget, presents it to the county and state review agencies, keeps the minutes of the Council meetings, reports on all official correspondence and business, pays bills and answers all correspondence. The Clerk/Treasurer (and/or Deputy) also issues identifying decals required for all residents' vehicles and boats, and licenses required for all dogs. The three members of the Town Council are:
